Ellacombe Engineering Services was set up in 2020 by sole trader Alistair as a company to support the restoration of his Class 117 DMU, allowing at the same time for other Heritage Railways to be supported by bulk buying components, as well as arranging the manufacture of others. 

We have also been involved in the component recovery of various parts from both 1st and 2nd generation DMU vehicles, including important components such as Fire Bottles (AFFF) for Pacer DMU's.

Alistair is a Full time fitter for a mainline TOC, having worked within a Engineering Technical Office previously. He plans to continue his mainline career as well as running Ellacombe Engineering Services around this supporting heritage railways and continuing the restoration of the Class 117.
